An identity that reflects the South African landscape, black women and their femininity. The identity also needs to be modern.

African women between the ages of 20-28 years have a problem with uneven skin tone, pimples and blemishes.

Ahavah is a Hebrew word meaning Love. This is specifically a kind of love that is giving of its’ time and devotion. I felt that this word is appropriate as when a woman treats and caters to her skin she requires time (during the physical application of the product and a period of time to let it manifest). A woman also requires devotion because, like most goals, you can’t achieve all your skin goals by using a product once. It requires a high level of consistency and dedication which in straightforward term is devotion. Ahavah fits perfectly as the brand name also because when you pronounce it, it brings in the breathability characteristic which our brand stands for.

I decided to use Halimun regular because it captures the essence of the brand which is to free flow and breathability

Arial narrow is a very simple typeface. I chose it to reflect that you don’t have to use complex products to treat skin but it is as easy as turning to nature as a solution, which is what Ahava has done.
